Parents, During this time, with so much illness going around, we want to make sure that everyone is clear on the TEACH absence procedures/policies:

If your child is going to be absent from school, we ask that you please notify the front office that morning. If we do not hear from you, we will be calling later in the day to notify you of the absence. **Please note that even if phone contact is made, we still must have a written excuse turned in to the office when the student returns to school**. This written excuse must be turned in within 3 days of the student's returning, or the absence will remain unexcused. We cannot accept notes written for past absences. If a student is out for more than 3 consecutive days, a doctor's note/documentation is usually required.

Having 10 or more unexcused absences in the current or past school year prohibits a student from receiving his/her driver's license or permit in Georgia, and most students and parents do not realize until this happens that so many absences have built up over time. Following the above procedures will ensure that this does not happen to your student!
