On Monday, September 14, TEACH hosted our first Grandparent’s Night to honor students’ grandparents.  So often, we provide events that include parents, but rarely do we have the opportunity to meet the students’ extended family.

Grandparents play a huge role in many families, and it was an honor to celebrate them as they shared their life experiences.They shared memories from when they attended school and also how other aspects of their life was different, such as working, cost of food, and family.  Students then bonded with their grandparents when they discussed what their grandparents meant to them.  There was laughter and some tears of joy throughout.  Thank you to all who opened their hearts to let us all in.  This event proved to bring families even closer together.
