Please plan to attend our Curriculum Night on September 7,
from 6:00pm-7:30pm. This will be a chance for you to meet your student's
teachers and get a glimpse of what will be taking place in their classrooms throughout
the year. During the curriculum night, parents will also be able to join the
PVO. If you cannot make it to Curriculum Night, and are still interested in
joining the PVO, you may contact Rhonda Allenson at rallenson@mac.com.
Student laptop distribution will start on Tuesday, September
7, 2010. Every student needs to turn in a laptop agreement form signed by both
the parent and the student. You can find a link to the Laptop Agreement Form in
this week's bulletin on our school website.
Clubs and afterschool activities will start meeting after
Labor Day. Students received a Club Interest From on Friday. We hope that
each student will be able to find at least one activity that they will be
interested in joining.
We are currently accepting resumes for four available
seats on the School Governing Board. Any parents who are interested in
serving on the Board should send their resumes along with a letter of
interest and intent to support the school to me by 5:00 pm on September
12, 2009. The resume of each candidate will then be posted on
our school web site. Parents may cast their votes starting Thursday, September 16 and the election will be over at 3:00
pm on September 18.
September 11, FSA is hosting the first ever Welcome
Picnic. Bring all family members to cook out, socialize, and have some
fun! The Welcome Picnic will take place at Wills Park from 11 AM-1
PM.
On September 13, we are hosting our 2nd annual
Grandparents Night! Last year, many students brought their Grandparents
to share their life stories and give great advice to their maturing
grandchildren. We laughed, shed tears, and bonded. We know the
Grandparents left that night feeling honored for all the support they lend to
their grandchildren. This event is at 6:00.
I certainly hope that the school year has gotten off to a
great start for everyone. Please feel free to contact me if you have any
questions or concerns.
We have just finished the first week of the school year 2010-2011. It is a great pleasure to see all the returning students back again, and to meet with all new students that chose FSA HS as their high school.
FSA HS continues to grow and improve with each school year. However, we do have few available spots in every grade level. Feel free to let your friends and neighbors to come for enrollment until the end of next week, September 3, 2010.
Dear Parents:
I am welcoming you and your family back to school and to encourage you
to remain involved in your child’s education, both inside and outside of
the classroom. And while you aren't part of the teaching staff you are
just as important to your children's education as we are. Your
involvement will help your child to be more successful now and in the
future. Your children receive the best education when you and our
dedicated teachers work as a team.
It's a parents enthusiasm, support and involvement that inspires
children to do their best; and a teacher's ability to teach what they
need to learn together we can achieve wonderful things as a FSA High
family.
