World Literature Students Hold Mock Roman Trial

As part of their final exam, Ms. Keathley’s World Literature students conducted a mock trial prosecuting Medea for her crimes against humanity. Medea, a crafty sorceress, sought revenge against her husband, Jason, for being unfaithful during their marriage and eventually abandoning her and their two kids to marry the princess of Thebes.

Sweet Success Celebration

TEACH students and staff had a great time at the "Sweet Success" celebration on the afternoon of Friday, December 12. Everyone enjoyed performances by the Step Team, Dance Team, and the Harmony Club while snacking on lots of delicious goodies! The TEACH basketball team was introduced by Ms. Facyson, and student awards were given out by Ms. Davidson. A special thank you to Ms. Rodgers and the Student Council, the PVO, and staff members who generously provided the desserts and decorations...it was all wonderful!
 
Art and Essay Contest

Middle and high-school students in the state of Georgia are invited to submit their original essays and works of art on the theme of "Alliance of Civilizations" which is the United Nation's concept of interaction and coordination among nations and cultures globally. Its purpose is to establish relations and facilitate cross-cultural and interfaith dialogue, understanding, reconciliation and cooperation.

TEACH hosted a Georgia College 411 Workshop on the evening of November 17. There was a good turnout of students and parents, who heard valuable information on planning, applying, and paying for college. It was a very informative event for all who attended. First "Puppy Robot Workshop" Was a Great Success!
The TEACH  Robotics  Team  hosted our first "Puppy Robot Workshop" last Saturday, November 15 and it was a great success!  We had a full house of 16 girls and one teacher, who accompanied 3 of her students.
 
World History Classes Enjoy Medieval Feast Day

World history students put together a medieval feast on Friday to end their unit of study on the Middle Ages. Ms. Rodgers’ 1st, 2nd, 6th and 7th period classes all enjoyed a wonderful European style banquet of fresh fruit, soup, meat pies, stuffing, roasted chicken, rice pilaf, pies, cakes, ginger bread, apple cider  and many other items students and parents prepared.
 
TEACH Celebrated Veterans Day with Distinguished Speaker, Mr. Tony Hilliard

US history students celebrated Veterans’ Day on Tuesday, November 11th with a guest speaker. Ms. Foster and Ms. Rodgers combined classes during 5th period so that all of their US history students had an opportunity to hear about the experiences of Mr. Tony Hilliard, who served for twenty-six years in the US Marine Corp.
 
Europe Trip Presentation & Application Form

The 2nd annual Europe trip presentation was held on Wednesday, Nov 12th. The attendees got the chance to taste Turkish Baklava and listen to Reid Kersey talk about his experiences on the trip  last year.  If you missed the presentation, you can download  the brochure  and the application form here.

2008-2009 Basketball Season Opener

Ms. Facyson and the Basketball Team would like to thank everyone for coming out and supporting the team as they played their first scrimmage game of the year. The team played well and came out on top winning the game 59 to 43. The Stallion’s first official game of the season is Sunday November 9th, 1:00pm at the East Roswell Recreation Center…see you there! GO STALLIONS!!

TEACH BEST (Better Engineering through Science and Technology) Robotics team was at the GA BEST Robotics competition, on Saturday, October 25, 2008.  The BEST competition was held at Southern Polytechnic University in Marietta, GA. 
 
Red Ribbon Week

Thanks to all the support from parents, students, and teachers. Red Ribbon Week was a huge success! Almost every student pledged to be drug free and the “Too Smart to Start” bulletin board in the cafeteria is full of student signatures. There were a variety of Red Ribbon Week activities that we would like to share with everyone in our TEACH community.
 
Fall Festival Pictures - October 18

Many TEACH students, faculty, and their family members enjoyed the Fall Festival on Saturday, October 18. The weather was perfect, and there was an abundance of food and fun. Activities included a pumpkin carving/decorating contest, cake walk, and face painting. Many thanks to all who participated in the organizing of the festival, as well as to all who came out to participate in the TEACH Community fun!!
 
Junior Night

TEACH Juniors and their parents participated in Junior Night on Thursday, September 18 from 6:00-7:00 pm. Ms. Davidson and Mr. Sercan gave a presentation regarding graduation requirements, college search and admission, financial aid, study habits, and learning styles.
 
TEACH Robotics team was at BEST Mall Day

TEACH BEST (Better Engineering through Science and Technology) Robotics team was at the Mall day on Saturday, October 18, 2008.  On the October 18th, our students practiced with the robot they built from scratch, using only the materials that are given to them by the competition sponsors at Cumberland Mall from 9 AM to 3 PM. 
 
FCBOE Recognizes TEACH

On Thursday, October 16, 2008, FCBOE recognized TEACH with an award certificate for receiving 3 achievement awards from State Superintendent's Distinguished Achievement Program. FSA Middle School was also awarded on the same night. Congratulations to all of the TEACH and FSA community on their achievements.
 
One Day Robot Workshop - November 15

TEACH Robotics team is holding a Girls Only Robotics Workshop on Novermber 15. During this workshop, girls will build and create robotic puppies that will be put through an agility course. It should be lots of fun!
 
US History Students Participate in National Forum
