| On Friday, May 22, TEACH hosted a commencement ceremony for our first graduating class! Twelve of our students are now going to begin the next chapter of their lives at various colleges and universities. The traditional ceremony included a speech from two students, our Salutatorian, Sibel Satiroglu and our Valedictorian, Alex Losh. | |

 | On Thursday, May 21, TEACH students and faculty gathered for our annual End of Year Picnic. We all had to hold on to our plates with the gusty winds, but thankfully there was no rain to keep us inside! Everyone enjoyed delicious grilled chicken and hot dogs provided by the school and cooked to perfection by Mr. Sahin. Students all pitched in by bringing chips and drinks, and yummy desserts were provided by staff members. Thanks to everyone who contributed in making it a great time for all! | |

| On Saturday, May 9, 2009 students from TEACH’s Turkish Olympiad team competed in the 2009 Southeast Turkish Olympiad at Kopleff Recital Hall in Georgia State University and acheived wonderful results!Team Members won 2 – 1st Places, 3 – 2nd places, 1-3rd place and 1 Special Jury Award. With 7 medals, the TEACH Turkish Olympiad Team was rewarded the overall BEST TEAM Award! | |

 | The TEACH PVO arranged many wonderful activities during Teacher Appreciation Week, such as a staff breakfast and ice cream party, with the grand finale being "Let Us Entertain You" on Thursday evening. The PVO members transformed the cafeteria into a banquet hall, complete with elaborate centerpieces on the tables, live music in the background, and catered food, drinks, and desserts served by our own student council members! | |

 | TEACH Charter High School received 1st place as Most Active Participant School in the WebChallenge 2009 Competition organized by TAG Education Collaborative. Two teams from our school became finalists. Teams received their prizes at an Award Dinner on April 29th, 2009 in the Georgia Tech Research Institute Conference Center. | |

 | We had a wonderful Europe over Spring Break. TEACH students, with Mr. and Mrs. Sercan as chaperones, visited lots of beautiful cities and had tons of fun. Besides having delicious food, they rafted, took a boat tour, rode ATVs, and shopped in historical bazaars. They had the chance to meet a different culture and were hosted by sincere and warm people. |

| Registration for high school courses begins April 27 and ends May 29. The program lasts for 16 days (June 8-29) with two periods each day. First semester courses will be offered in the morning, from 7:30 a.m. to 11:35 a.m., and second semester courses will be offered in the afternoon from noon to 4:05 p.m. | |

| EOCT(End-Of-Course Tests) are state-mandated achievement tests that measure how well students are performing in four core subject areas. Students take the EOCT at the conclusion of eight high school courses; two in each core subject area. | |

Congratulations to the first ever TEACH National History Day team of Reid Kersey, Alex Levine and Casey Redmond. On Saturday they attended the North GA regional National History Day competition at Kennesaw State University. Their group documentary, “Seymour Kaplan: Building Democracy in Korea” was awarded 3rd place. They qualified for the state competition that will be held at Macon State University on April 25th.

| On Saturday, March 14, our TEACH Tech Fair Team participated in the State Tech Fair at West Forsyth High School. TEACH received the highest number of 1st place awards, with a total of 7. In addition, we received four 2nd place awards, which gave us the highest total number of awards at the high school level. Congratulations to our sister middle school, Fulton Science Academy, who also did a great job, receiving a total of 11 awards. | |

| TEACH held our Viva Las Vegas Dance on Friday, March 13. Students came to the Holiday Inn dressed to impress and danced the night away! D Street Entertainment helped set the tone for a lively party with great music and lights! Their associates also captured the night by photographing the event. Don’t think that only the students had fun...the faculty chaperones had a blast! Thank you to Mrs. Rodgers, Mrs. Davidson, and the Student Council for hosting a night where the memories will surely last a lifetime. | |
